About the winery

Located in the beautiful Napa Valley, Del Dotto Family Wineries & Caves focus on small production, premium wines. Dave Del Dotto has spent the past 25 years acquiring vineyards in some of the best American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, and Fort Ross-Seaview Sonoma Coast. Currently, the family produces cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese and sauvignon blanc from their Napa Valley vineyards, as well as pinot noir, chardonnay and limited amounts of syrah, sauvignon blanc, sparkling grenache and mourvedre from their Cinghiale (wild boar) Vineyard in the King Ridge region of the Sonoma Coast.

2021 Piazza Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford

The Sauvignon Blanc from Rutherford appellation is distinctively different than our Sonoma Coast offering. It is very consistent year to year with the flavor profile offering light, toasty-leezy notes up front, with lemon flowers, honeydew melon, kiwi, and pineapple. The wine is juicy and full but finishes very focused. Very traditional style Sauvignon Blanc that is true to the land it is grown on.

2017 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The Estate Pinot Noir continues to impress us year after year, and the 2019 is no exception. The Estate offering has an amazingly complex display of intense black cherry, fresh earth, forest floor, black tea, and even light hints of vanilla bean. More than the expressions themselves, it is the balanced concentration and finesse of how they present. The palate is inviting, but holds tension with an exciting liveliness and silky entry on the palate that carries the weight and concentration with such finesse and complete elegance. The continuity among the last several vintages has been very impressive from this vineyard.

2018 Calistoga BDX Red Wine Blend

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc
The 2019 BDX blend is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The blend clearly shows the 3 Bordeaux varietals that are present. Bright red fruit of bing cherries up front is the expression of
Merlot, while the richer, deeper notes of currant, plum, and blackberry show the nobility of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet Franc offers the wonderful spice, white pepper, and even blueberry notes that are possible in the best representations of the varietal. The blending of the three varietals really makes for a complete mouthfeel and midpalate. Lively freshness from the Merlot, rich, full, and expansive flavors of the Cabernet Sauvignon and a focused, supple, and inviting structure provided by the Cabernet Franc.

2020 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc
Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a quintessential Napa Cab at a great price point. The bouquet is ripe and expressive with layers of fruit, but also shows deeper nuances like currants with hints of vanilla, caramel, and spice on the finish. The lush mid palate shows spicy notes with good minerality. This medium bodied wine can be enjoyed now and for the next ten years.
