Dr. Melissa Urrea

Melissa J. Urrea, MD is an Executive Medical Director for naviHealth with over a decade of utilization management and population health experience. As naviHealth’s executive physician, Dr. Urrea specializes in maintaining strong positive relationships between naviHealth, our health plan payers and the acute and post-acute clinical providers. As a servant-leader, Dr. Urrea dedicates herself to naviHealth’s mission of helping seniors live more fulfilling lives. As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Urrea witnessed how her patients and even her own family members were moved between multiple post-acute care institutions. As a result, she passionately believes in the importance of cost-effective care delivery and seamless care transitions to improve the patient and the provider experience. In her free time, Dr. Urrea plays tennis, writes novels and enjoys time with her family and four dogs.
